Air Blower installation

Post by Tlempicke »

I have installed an air blower system on my machine. It operates as it should when I use the control panel to turn the output (No 5) on and off. This tells me that all is well with the. wiring, the relay, and the Acorn. How do I now get the post processor to insert the code to turn it on and off. Better yet, could I just parallel that relay with the Spindle control (relay 8)?

Depends on what CAM you are using.

And yes, you can control more than one relay with one output.

If it is assigned to Output5, use M65 (on) and M85 (off), or M94 /65 (on) and M95 /65 (off).

If it's for an ATC, look at the output assignment ATCAirBlowActivate (M15), activates with UnclampTool.

If you're using the Air Blow button on the VCP (output AirBlowNozzle), I don't know what externally calls it.

Then let me rephrase the question. How can I control more than one relay with one command? If I can do this I will parallel the spindle control with the air blower control and all of the existing tool paths that I have will work without modification.

You can only control one Acorn output relay with one command (M94/M95). You can control multiple Acorn output relays using a macro that contains multiple M94/M95 commands.

You can use one Acorn output relay to control multiple additional external relays

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Add the commands to your M3 and M5 macros.

No problem to wire two relays parallel to one output.

You could also use the SpindleCooling/SpindleCoolingFan or SpindleBrakeRelease outputs, which will auto activate/deactivate with the spindle.

Thank you! That did the trick. This setup will only be used for some plastic work that I am planning so I put a valve in the line and I can just shut of the air when I don't need it.
