Post by Markostojic »

Hi i have an hiteco atc for a router that im getting ready to install, i have 3 inputs and 5 outputs available to me which i am not sure is enough or i need an expansion board, i need to install a spindle brake , 2 solenoids , and signals for the atc which im not sure whether all sognal wiring needs to be assigned or not, i have a thermal contact on my vfd which i am hoping to use for the thermal switch, in the future 2 more solenoids
Thanks in advance

looks pretty standard.

air solenoid for cooling/pressure

air solenoid for tool release

are you planing on using this on a router with a rack ATC?
if so use the Wizard to enable and configure the rack and
use the canned atc outputs for spindle tool release, and coolingfan(even though its not a fan)

and you can add an input for an external button for tool release to make your life easier. and mount it on the spindle.(if there is not one already there)
take photos of your machine put into photo album online, post link to album here to get the best advice and answers.

hi i am having trouble figuring out my s1 s3 sensor and s1 service output, im not sure whether they need to be inputs or outputs and not sure what to assign to them , s2 tool release works fine and fires the solenoids. i just updated to ver 5.06 and when i assign nc or no in the wizard they come back as nc in the wizaed but are different in the diagnostic screhttps://photos.app.goo.gl/2Yjbdn8pvKtisspB6en and some inoputs are forced open on start up

photo link above is dead.

in general
connect one thing at a time and sort and debug one thing at a time.

Hi , my S1 tool. Clamped correctly sensor, i dont know which definition to assign the input as i only see toolunclamped as i am unable to spin my spindle which i am trying to sort out with hiteco , not sure if the sensors all have to be assigned or not as i have succesfully wired the other senses and all works fine

I would use "ToolIsUnclamped" for your S1 sensor, as it also acts as a "Clamped" when its off. You may need to invert the input so that it is in the correct state.

So when tool is clamped in spindle, input should be Off/Opened/Red, and when the tool is unclamped, input should be On/Closed/Green.

In addition, the acorn PLC does not prohibit the spindle if the tool is clamped/unclamped. May indicate you have another issue preventing the spindle from starting. If you command an M3 and your Output 4 turns on, the spindle should now be running.
