PSA for those building a system with two IPC-5s

Post by kb58 »

I''m running my control box on 240V and have a 10-amp class "C" circuit breaker feeding two IPCs (without servos for now). Powering it up causes the breaker to pop every time. If I disconnect either one, the other powers up fine. Recommend a higher current breaker and/or going to a Class D breaker due to the apparently very large inrush current.

On my systems I use one 10A D curve breaker for each power supply. You need to upsize breakers for inductive loads due to inrush current

Thanks, Gary, a beefier breaker is on the way.
