Acorn Input Question

The wiring diagram for the Huanyang VFD show Input #5 as "Spindle OK"
The wiring diagram for the Stepperonline CL86Y Drive show Input #5 as "Drive OK"
The Acorn Input Definitions shows Input #4 as "Spindle OK" and Input #5 as "Drive OK"

Is anyone able to confirm which is correct?

You can have it anyway you like it. There is no right answer. You get to choose what Input you wish to use for each function.

Thanks for the help! I will go ahead and follow the Input definitions in the manual.

I have a question about this subject. can one input share the drive ok and spindle ok? I am out of inputs unless I remove something else.

Why do you need both?

If you are intending to combine your 4 closed loop drives + spindle/VFD, you could take a look at schematic S14972 where 3 Clearpaths are setup to combine DriveOK signals using a common 5vdc relay board. Using this technique your additional CL drive is no problem and you could possibly accommodate the VFD as well

If they are all NC or NO ist should be no problem to connect them to one Drive OK input, but the spindle will then trigger a Drive ALM, no Spindle Fault message.

I already have all 4 N/O drive alarm signals hooked together with a terminal block and one wire going into input 5. not sure that is working properly though as I tried to pull power cable off one drive while moving and the alarm on drive had major delay before defaulting. Maybe the relay setup would be the way to go there?
as far as inputs go I have inputs 1 and 2 occupied by homing sensors. 8= e-stop. 7= tool touch off 6= feed hold#2 5=drive ok 4= cycle start#2 3=spindle flow alarm which hasn't been configured yet. I am still in the process of deciphering the Huanyang inverter HY02D223B as maybe having spindle flow alarm input somewhere.

Would "major delay" mean something like 1.0 seconds? If so, that is normal behavior. You can shorten that time using Machine Parameter 991 (which is the drive fault delay time, in milliseconds).

major delay is more of a major issue with the drives alarm function or my faulty wiring. its been a while since this happened as I noted to myself to come back to this issue later. the drive I unplugged the signal wires from showed in error state but other drives were still moving and machine didn't stop until I tried to jog in axis that was unplugged. I still need to trouble shoot the drives to see if 5 volt are coming out of alarm when there is a fault. that brings up another thought. will the acorn input 5 drive ok except 5 volts or should i use a relay with 5 volts in and 24 volts out? I plan to download my most recent report on my build page soon if I cant figure it out when i get to that point. thanks for any feedback

If you want to wire multiple signal wires to one common input, you really should be using a relay. That way, the signals are isolated from each other, and it emulates the signals being wired in series (i.e. if one faults out, the chain is broken and the input sees the fault. And if the relay block you use has LED indicators, you can easily see which one faulted).
