Can Intercon be used for probing?

Post by lavrgs »

I would like to use my probe to measure items but would prefer to get data that is directly usable. The problem is that the probing cycles can measure a bore and output the diameter but with the radial and wall following cycles the data is offset by 1/2 the ball diameter. I've brought the data into fusion360 and that has issues. I've brought the data into Creo and it imports without too much work; I need to create a csv file then change the extension to .pts. It still has the 1/2 ball offset.

I have the need to measure some large radii and started by setting 0,0 at one end, then incrementally moving the x axis and probing to the wall. I write the data down but would like something more automated. The radii being measured are in the 18 inch range.

Why not post process the data with an excel spreadsheet?

i measure large radi on the surfboards i build. I use a cad system (rhino) to create an offset path from the .dig data i collect to create the actual surface data, takes about three clicks to go from dig (1/2 ball diameter) path to actual surface path.

How do you measure the curve?
