Pendent Manual Milling??

Post by garybergin288 »

so the one major issue im having to deal with converting my manual mill to cnc is losing the ability to do manual machining operations, my design does still allow the use of the handwheels but i am removing my power feed in lieu of the cnc steppers. My question being with the Centriod wireless pendent or maybe a different option will i be able to perform manual milling using my steppers as "power feed" ?

I do that ALL the time. Probably more than CNC control. It works great.

Certainly. It's not the most efficient or safe ( potential to crash), but very doable. Often when I need to trim a plate to rough size, I put it in the vise and then use the machine manually.

Works great to manual control the mill, but for more than 2 moves, I am faster with Intercon...

sure, do the tutorials in the mill manual and watch this:

and here without explaining

By the way, get a WMPG4 from Centroid, works perfectly and reliable

I use the wireless MPG to clean up stock prior to machining and similar operations all the time. Works great for me.
