Hello,
I am evaluating tool changing system for a manual lathe CNC project, in which I will use CENTROID Acorn.
Does anybody know if there is some project of installing an ALTAROS turret using Centroid ?
Link to turret:

Many thanks.

Thanks very much Uwe.
I would like to follow your project of self-designed turret.
I own an EMCO CT60 which I use for prototyping and small/not complicated production parts.
Its turret is really smail, 4 ext tools and 4 int tools, and has a mechanism with following basic characteristics:
1) Turns only in 1 direction (CCW).
2) Optical device to electronically detect what tool is enganged. It needs a full rotation at start to "know" where he is.
3) There is a small DC motor that makes the rotation movement (CCW), and right after passing the position of the target tool, it inverst polarity and it has constant small torque forcing througn a "wedge" mehcanism the tool plate to stay in position, reacting mechanically against the turret body itself.
4) With a new tool change, CC motor invers polarity, rotates until new position, and polarity change cycle starts again.
Electronics is really a hard discipline for me... so I will need to learn/copy what others do...
If you describe your project´s progress,... more than happy of following it.

We have some users here with emco turrets. Works well with Acorn.

No matter what turret you have or how it works the PLC can be edited to make it work. You may need an experienced persons help to edit though.
