Using cell phone to update CNC computer
I wanted to update my CNC mill to CNC12 vs. 5 but Windows 10 needed to be updated. I don't have internet in my shop. The PC would have needed to be taken to the house in order to connect to the internet. I do have 5G cell service on my cell phone in my shop so I used a USB cable between my cell phone and my PC to have internet on my CNC PC. All I had to do was turn on USB tethering on my handy and that was it. No muss no fuss. The computer updated in about 10 minutes to the latest and greatest and I was set to install CNC12 vs. 5. This is probably nothing new or spectacular for most of you all but in the chance that some of you old farts like me who are technologically challenged and don't have a 12 year old kid to keep you up to date on all this stuff I thought it might be a help to some of you.

If your PC has wifi, you can create a mobile wifi hotspot with your smart phone and tether your PC to it - this gives you the same result but saves having to use cables etc.
