New Build CNC Router

Post by Jthomas »

This is my my first CNC. It is a Yuyong Industries queenant pro V2 with a centroid acorn controller and a makita 40 volt cordless router. With a VESC controller for the makita. I am enjoying the build and learning a lot.
I have attached a report zip file and a link of pictures.

Im having trouble figuring out the best way to wire the proximity sensors and if I should just use these to home my machine and use soft limits in the software or wire them as limit switches. Please point me in the right direction.
Thank You

Wire them as home switches and use the soft limits. It just works.
Be careful about noise/EMI as you are not using shielded wire for the drive signals. Laptops are also not supported so good luck.

Do you know of a good video or post on how to wire these sensors and set these up in the software.
Or what words to search for

+1 on using them as home switches with soft limits.

Schematic and Wizard input assignments.

I have the same machine. Only difference is I have a VFD/Spindle setup. There is a build thread on mine in case its useful to you. Titled "IPGregory Build and Progress Thread"

Good luck with your build and post up lots of pictures!
Thx
Ian

I have my proximity switches wired and tested them and the proximity switch lights turns on when they should. I would like to set my software limits but am not sure the correct way to do it. I also am not sure if my + or - direction is correct on all axis. I would also like to do auto square when make sure my proximity switches are triggering in the acorn sorn software.
Please point me in the right direction.
Thank You
Jesse

Hi Jesse, the answers to ALL your questions can be found in the Acorn Install Manual, please take the time to read it cover to cover, it really helps. Your report is not attached to your post.
