Thanks Shawn M. You were right the inputs were inverted in the PLC. Thank You! I have the homing working and now im adjusting the switches for the the Y axis and working on getting it square. Here is a new link for the photo album. Hopefully this one works. I appreciate the help

Looks great and I'm glad it's working.

You stated in a prior post you had NPN NC proximity switches and in one of your photos it reads NPN NO right on the switch. Am I seeing this correctly? NC switches are preferred and what you told us you had. If you thought they were NC yourself this is why you were having trouble with homing and getting the message "home tripped". If you selected NC in the wizard and they are indeed NO this is why.

And also note, laptops are not recommended for use with CNC12. Just a warning when you have other issues down the road.

Lastly, you have A LOT of pc resends in your error log which is a wiring and/or noise issue. You need to fix this first before you go any further. This is mainly because you are not using shielded wire where it's required.

Thanks Guys,
I don't know how I missed the prox switches were n.o.
I designed a simple design in carbide create and loaded it bit I'm getting line 505 invalid Value line 13. I suspect it is a problem with carbide create. Do you know ow of a better software to start with? I added pics of the fault to my album

post the offending g code program otherwise we have no idea what is on line 13,

from your photo album, the images unfortunately don't show line 13 of the g code program it is covered up .... post the program!

i'd guess you are not using the Vectric provided Centroid post processor.

and please always post a fresh report.zip when requesting support so we can see your latest configuration and any recent error messages.

yeah..this is not centroid g code. you are using the wrong post processor with Vcarve

(Design File: )
(stockMin:0.000in, 0.000in, -1.000in)
(stockMax:8.000in, 8.000in, 0.000in)
(STOCK/BLOCK,8.000, 8.000, 1.000,0.000, 0.000, 1.000)
G90
G20
(Move to safe Z to avoid workholding)
G53G0Z-0.197
(Toolpath: VCarve Toolpath 1)
(VCarve Toolpath 1 - Vee)
M05
(TOOL/MILL,0.001, 0.000, 0.394, 45.00)
M6T301
M03S10000
(PREPOSITION BEFORE RAPID PLUNGE)
G0X2.5000Y3.5000
Z0.5000
Z0.0098
G1Z-0.0500F8.0
G0Z0.5000
Z0.0098
G1Z-0.1000
G0Z0.5000
M02

if you are trying to make a circle , i suggest you give intercon a go, it creates good g code

Another newbie question.
Please bear with me.
Im trying to figure out the correct way to load and run multiple toolpaths to cut a sign on a piece of mdf.
I am currently using carveco. I save the toolpath to my computer then load it into acorn. I run the toolpath to do the cut. But I seem to be losing my zero for my workpiece coordinates just a little bit because when I load the next toolpath it cuts into my circle just a little bit and the depth is off slightly. Ive also tried rerunning the same toolpath twice and it cuts exactly in the same line and same depth perfectly. Its only when I load another toolpath that have the issue.

review your g code, sound like you have a shift in the different files of the part location.

"joining" of individual g code programs is easy with the M98 command, look it up in the operator manual on how to use it.

when doing a part that has lots of different phases of machining i often have individual g code programs for the various sections of the part (and sometimes the g code comes from different sources as well!) and use m98 to run them all together as one happy g code program.

open notepad ++ and create a "master" g code program call it whater ever you want. master-part.cnc.

this program 'calls' the individual programs. this is what it might look like.

M98 "name of first file.cnc"
M98 "name of 2nd file.tap"
M98 "name of 3rd file.nc"

etc..

as always
graph it , study it before cutting
