post your report.zip from v4.82 and one from v5.0 and we could comment on as to why this is happening to you.

Suggest you check your WCS Z origin as this is currently set to zero. As your Z soft limits are set to -155/+0 any Z+ move will trigger a limit exceeded error.

If you are relying on ProbeApp to dynamically set Z as I do for my router without fixed tooling, you may not have it set correctly
Hope this helps

thanks Bill.

are you using the DB25? or screw terminals?

on one report P813 is set to 1 and on the other P813 is set to zero

P813 is the Wizard selection where you define where you are using the DB25 or the Screw terminals.

this means that you have this menu is configured different between your old install and the new one.
p813 db25.png
p813 screw.png
for instance if you are using the DB25 for connection to the stepper drives and have "screw terminal" selected. this would result in a direction reverse.

or if you are using the screw terminals for the axis motor drive connections and have DB25 selected in this menu this would result in a direction reverse.

so set this menu correctly to match the actual wiring (db25 or screw terminal) then go set the axis configuration menu to set the direction properly.

Muzzer wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 10:51 am Well that was a little painful, as the wizard overwrote previous wizard settings when I wasn't looking. But I seem to have got there in the end.

One thing I can't find either in CNC12 itself or the release notes is where to find the option to enable or disable the 4th axis. Perhaps it was removed due to the need to support Acorn 6 but I'd like to be able to turn off the 4th axis DRO when it's not in use. Like most people, I only use the 4th axis occasionally. Is it still available somewhere?

- you can disable an axis in the Wizard Axis configuration menu (or the CNC12 motor menu) by changing the axis label from W,A,B,X,Y,Z etc..etc.. to "N" , "N" = null, no, not connected etc..

- the Wizard does not overwrite any previous versions settings so not sure what you mean , can you further describe in detail? the installer actually makes an entire copy of the old cnc12 version specifically in a backup folder so it doesn't overwrite them.

Thanks Keith,
That was an oversite on my part. Thanks for pointing that out. Working correctly now.
