2) Wiring is made to the Acorn.
3) Using the Legacy Drive.

My point is simply that it no longer works like it used to. Not a big deal (until you can't figure it out).
i see, so you are using the G540 i/o then? if you are then the G540 FWD/REV work, if you are using the Acorn i/o then SpinFwd/Rev work.

I have the same feeling; + the upgrade path s*ucks. You go through the software update and the machine doesn't work

No, outputs directly to the Acorn Board (Old V3).

Sorry dude - I can't really agree with you. In less than 1 hour I was able to do the a full install to upgrade to 5.0. I only have this 1 issue of trouble, and was able to figure it out in 10 minutes. You're making it sound worse than it is.

Best advice I can give is to write down each "process" you have to do to setup the new software.

I have mine written down, and I just go down the list.

Many settings are not able to be adjusted in the Wizard, so you need to remember those, and make those changes manually.

which schematic # are you using? i think you have things mixed up..

'Legacy' = using the i/o on the G540
https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... 893.r5.pdf

"Drive only" = using the i/o on the Acorn
schematic # https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... 810.r9.pdf

'Drive only' means you are using the G540 as a stepper motor drive only not for i/o therefore all the i/o is on the Acorn. and therefore you use SpinFwd/Rev this is the recommended way.

I'm going to have to check tonight. Either way, point still unchanged. The settings that worked on 4.82 do not work on 5.00.

5.0 doesn't support mixing of "drive only" and "legacy drive" setups so maybe this was something that v4.82 overlooked and you got away with it. :D
