Finally installed my Planetary Gearbox Gear Ratio 10:1
I now have a revs/in of 2.69369057.
Everything is calibrated and moving the correct distance spot on!
Should I change any other settings now?
Can I now use "smoothing", or is it not necessary?
Thanks.
10/1 gears installed!

yes, change the dip switch settings on the drive to 3200 and make same change in the Wizard.
yes you can start using smoothing with short vector g code programs (its unnecessary for g code programs that contain large lines and arcs)
see this doc for explanation. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... manual.pdf

Re: 10/1 gears installed!
Made the change. Same issue still. the X axis stalls but still thinks it is moving at any fast travel speed above 200ipm. Hey cnckeith, can I pay you guys to help me figure this out? I am never going to figure this out on my own.cnckeith wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 7:21 pm yes, change the dip switch settings on the drive to 3200 and make same change in the Wizard.

Re: 10/1 gears installed!
Ok. if you can wait till July or August i will most likely be in that area then.
fyi.. techs are going to charge for travel time and time on site.
some service techs like to pick the machine up and take it back to their shop get everything running and then deliver it back to you.
Vitech Machine is in Statesville NC, they won't be cheap but they are very good at what they do.

Re: 10/1 gears installed!
Late to the party here, but what happens if you lower your max rate? Does it still do it no matter how low you set it. Did you say at one time that you put the drivers in open loop mode and it worked fine? Can't remember. The way it looks and sounds, is what I've heard when the stepper motor has exceeded it's rpm, but you should get a driver fault. Just more spit ballin'.
Edited...Ok, I see that it's anything above 200ipm.
