Using Clearpath MCPV Motor with Acorn

Post by bbkengineering »

I am conducting a bench test with one MCPV Motor and a linear rail system.

I intend to use SDSK motors and a C86ACCP board but I have to complete the bench test for my professor as this is a school project.

I hooked up the clearpath motor but keep getting a drive fault error. Not sure if this has to do with clearpath or the fact there is only an SDSK option in the setup wizard.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Only SDSK motors can be controlled via step & direction signal, which is what the Acorn board will put out. You can control the MCPV via programming and outputs connected to the Clear path inputs

I thought Id come back and share my findings. If the MCPV motor is put in "Pulse Burst Positioning Mode" It is able to commincaute with the Acorn with the SDSK configuration in the set up wizard.
