Help with adding dyn4 and 1kw servo for spindle

Post by cad cam man »

I have a pm727v milling machine and I am replacing the spindle with a dyn4 driver and 1kw servo this will be wired 220 volt single phase, I need to add a contactor but I dont know what size contactor I need . I am a machinist by trade and I only know enough about electrical wiring to grt me in trouble. But I do know when to ask for help !!! I have all the wiring schematics from the Acorn website I just need to know what hardware I need to get . I already have the dyn 4 and the 1kw servo , can someone help me out with what size contactor and should I put line filters on each leg of the 220 ? Sorry in advance for the dumb questions ....I didn't think I need to post a report file but I can if needed . I'm running acorn , cnc12 , closed loop steppers , on a precision matthews pm727v

EMI Filters GND L1 N connected.

Contactor should have min. the Amp rating of your servo drive.

Consider to get an external brake chopper for snappy performance

The drive manual will recommend what fuse/CB and what speed/curve they should be.
Cheers,

Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.
