Job Timer

Post by NovaStar »

Hi
So just curious as to why there is no "Time Remaining" displayed for jobs or even "Elapsed Time"
With the CAM software it displays total job time, including machine time, and travels ... So can that info not be passed onto CNC12 and have that time displayed somewhere easily read by the operator?
I just ask because when I post a job and CAM says 3:20:20 for example ... other than keeping time manually I have no idea at around what time that job will end ...
So maybe it could be incorporated at a later stage ??

At the moment you can use M130 to start a external timer App

m130 "C:\MillDemo\FreeCountdownTimerPortable\FreeCountdownTimer.exe"

You can also use a simple batchfile as a timer .

You can also "Graph" the job and the estimated time is shown when it's finish graphing. I have found it to be very close when running several hour 3D relief files.

Yes, thats the time you need to dial in the countdown timer....

There is a timer when you "Show GCODE" vs path

This is what I do, once I graph the file I jot down the estimated time and when the job is running the g code screen shows a timer to reference it to.

I agree a countdown timer or estimated time to finish would be a great addition on one or both screens. My fiber laser shows the estimated time and actual time side by side on the screen. Certainly handy for the "longer" cut jobs.

Am I missing something? I thought the elapsed run time of the job had been visible in the status window area, in the upper right of the screen, in every CNC7/CNC10/CNC11/CNC12 version since 1995.

Maybe you are mistaking the runtime graphics display as the only possible job-running display?
