Despite what Teknic says about keyways this is my method of choice with some 648 Loctite and a set screw. I order my pulleys with a set screw over the top of the keyway so it does not mar the shaft as it only presses on the key. A drop or two of 648 and it's never coming apart or twisting unless you heat it back up. Never had one come loose or measured any backlash from it.
