Ok cnckeith, thanks for those details.

Got the ethernet plugged into the correct port...

Reconnected everything back as it first was.

Loaded the rev4.

Now the Acorn6 Onboard LED1 has Horizontal Lines scrolling Vertically.

When trying to start Centroid Software it is saying the following:

Now it says "Socket Library Send to () Failed

Check Windows Firewall, Ethernet Cable, Acorn Heart Beat.

Acorn Heart Beat is Flashing Blue, Ethernet cable is from Centroid and
I can connect it between other devices and it seems to work properly.

The Computer is from Centroid one All-in-one Touch Screen CNCPC's

What would I be looking for in it regarding the Firewall?

Preston

Preston,

The lines scrolling on the LED show the board in a normal state.

Can you ping NIC at 10.168.41.1? Then ping the AcornSix at 10.168.41.2? Do you get results from both?

Unless settings were changed there would be no issues with the Firewall, but you can go into the Windows Defender Firewall settings and take a look.

Do you have internet at the machine? I can TeamViewer in and see what else might be going on. If you give me a call at ext. 117 I can remote in to help troubleshoot.

Ok, Liviu spent about half an hour with me today via phone and Teamviewer and
has ask that the Acorn6 Board be returned for evaluation.

I will update upon getting it back and doing the same test.

Thanks Liviu!!!

Ok, another couple of questions.

This time regarding Noise Filters and Fuses, and the location of said Filters and Fuses.

Here is a simplified Schematic of our Electrical Layout for the DYN4
AC Servo Controllers.

Legend:
DS Disconnect
ACLR AC Line Reactor
NF1 60 amp Noise Filter
MC1 60 amp Magnetic Contactor
CB1 20 amp Molded Case Circuit Breaker D Type
NF2 10 amp Noise Filter
MC2 10 amp Magnetic Contactor
F2 1 amp Fuse
NF3 1 amp Noise Filter

I have searched and found that very few of the recommended schematics all
agree on the placement and use of various items such as the above.

Regarding the F2 and NF3 that are before the DYN4 L1 and L2 inputs, are these
really needed?

Or is there something better to do in the way of this arrangement.

Our Power is always Iffy and thus the AC Line Reactor and Initial NF1.

Looking forward to your comments and recommendations as we await the Evaluation
of our AcornSix Board.

For some reason the picture loads sideways, but if you click on it ...It goes Vertical?

Best Regards,

Preston

Ok, an Update...

First. Very surprised no answer regarding the Noise Filters and Fuses, But
I have reached out to an Electrical Engineer Friend and he will provide an
answer to this question soon.

Second, regarding the AcornSix Board.

I spoke with Liviu and had another TeamViewer share.

The Board tested out Perfectly and is being shipped back today if all went
well with the final testing overnight. He connected to the Centroid Computer
that was hooked up to the board and changed one parameter that his
engineers said should Not affect anything, but that had on one of these
AcornSix boards about a year ago...

We will test again upon the arrival of the Board...20-20 hind site...we have
a second Centroid Computer running Regular Acorn that we can use to test
this board if there is still a problem when it arrives.

Anyway, we will keep everyone updated soon.

Best Regards,

Preston

Preston, I highly recommend you follow the schematic and system layout in the DYN4 manual. They are the manufacturer and know what's best for their drives. They would know better than anyone else including your electrical engineer friend.

That said, I have built a system with the DYN5 drives (similar wiring to the DYN4 drives) and followed their diagrams and layout per the manual and they ran rock solid on a Biesse Rover I retrofit with Acorn. NF3 and F1 and F2 are the filter and fuses for the logic side of the drive. That power needs to be clean and noise free. The fuses are for protection of course. I would not skip these components, especially if your power is "iffy" as you say. Keep the NF3 as close to the drive as possible. Also, do not share voltage from the NF3 with more than one drive. EACH drive gets it's own NF3 and F1 and F2. Hope this helps.

Thanks Shawn,

From everything I have been reading and seeing, I believe your advice
agrees.

I will use all of the NF's and F's indicated and keep them very close
to the DYN4 Drives.

Thanks for your kindly reply.

Update:

The AcornSix board that Centroid Checked Out and was fine arrived back and we
reinstalled it into the Control Panel.

Hooked it back up to the Centroid Control CNC12 Computer and still no communication.

Contacted Liviu at Centroid and he did another Teamviewer session and could not get
any communication with that computer. We changed to another Centroid Computer running
our CNC Router and It connected Immediately.

Thus, something with the Centroid Computer. Liviu ask that I hook up the Centroid Computer
that was not communicating to the AcornSix Controller to our Acorn4 Control system to test it there.

Another Teamviewer session and finally he found something in the Original Setup that was set Wrong.

Changing that one Setting Fixed the Non Communication and Everything Works Fine now.

Thanks Liviu for the kind help in finding this problem...

Now on with Wiring the AcornSix Controller.

Regards,

Preston
