feedrates not consistent after update <door interlock input>

Post by Chriscnc »

hey so ive been running my home built cnc router on acorn for the past year and run with no issue. was setup with openbuilds vslot c channel bridge, roller wheels and belt drive with nema 24 for the Y and 8mm leadsrew for the X and twin Z axis for two spindles, it worked well but was slow and really pushing it for the two 1.5kw spindles
so the plan in mind when building the frame was to cut full sheet witch are 3960x1200x22mm
after a year runnning belts and snapping a few of them, i fully cad designed the cnc to have linear rails allround rack and pinon Y and 20mm ballsrew X and ATC spindle and a 10 bay tool holder :D

Over the break ive upgrade the machine and installed the lasted update of cnc12 and all seem to setup and run and dose what it needs to do, the ATC is still yet to added im manual changing for now as i haven't bolting tool rack on yet

***SO My first problem is the Feedrate is set to my slow jog?? most my programs are not moving the cnc at the right speed, it will cut and rapid at 2000
but then i have another program witch will work perfectly to start with and cut at 6000 and rapid at 6500 then half way when i tool change it will go back to moving at 2000 for the rest of the program

i cant see a difference in the two programs? am i missing something simple here
so file FDYA140 moves slow @2000
file ADH071 works for the start then after tool change back to 2000mm/min

video is with smooting on witch made it cut at the 6000 feedrate but would rapid at 2000

hello.

2000? there are only two F commands in both programs F1000 and F6000

there are no Rapid XY moves in either program.

are you running this job with the feedrate override jacked to 200%?

are you running this job with rapid override on or off?

Were they generated with the free version of Fusion 360? It doesn't output XY rapids.

hey keith the F1000 will be the z axis plunge rate and F6000 is the cutting rate
i programed my last setup the same and didnt have this problem

feedrate is at 100%

and have tryed rapid override off and on and is the same i think its set to on default

i use solidworks hsm to do my programs

i ran FDYA140 on my machine

cuts at F1000 and a F6000 (circle displayed feedrate is obviously less)

with about 10 or so true rapids at my rapid rate of 10,000 mm/min

what smoothing profile are you using?

interesting. i am running contouring router atm to get the cut speed right but the rapids still only move at 2000 with that on

Parameter 85 = 2.
Slow Jog = 2000 mm/min.

SafetyDoorSwitchClosed_I IS INP7

cnc12 thinks the door is open?

ah yes i changed to parameter 85 to 0 and its moving correct speed now thanks heaps
will have to look at that input i thought is was working correctly as it stops when i open the door and tells me to cycle e stop to reset ??

do you have a door interlock on this machine?

door interlock will cause
any active G-Code to stop if the door interlock is opened, and will disallow the use of the spindle so long as the
door remains open.
Use:
Parameter 85 (“Door Open” Interlock PLC Bit) should be set to the input number where the interlock
signal is. If this is a normally open connection, this will be a positive number. A normally closed connection will
be a negative number. For example, if the interlock is on INP7, and no signal indicates the door is open, then
Parameter 85 will be “-7”. This parameter will force a machine to use the slow jog rate if the door is open. The
parameter default is “0”, which means it is disabled.
From the main menu, press F1 Setup, then F3 Config, then F3 Parameters. Then move your cursor to
85, and press F10 Save when the proper value is entered.
