Ok here is the results of the upgrade so far. I got the controller in a case and hooked it up to the Shopbot. The steppers seem to run smoother and I ran several test files and they all ran fine without the spindle hooked up I set up the limit switches and they work but I need to figure out how to change the offset for my homing X and Y I still haven't hooked up my zero plate as I am not sure what switch to use and what input drop down to use for it. I hooked up the spindle and I seem to have some problems with that. I am getting a EF4 code that I can not clear on the VFD. My VFD is a Yaskawa V7-4 varispeed with an HSD 2.2 kw spindle.

I emailed Shopbot and they just got back to me and had me jumper 2 terminals that one wire was off, I think it is working now as the EF4 code is gone and it shows the screen I am used to. That is some support from Shopbot to answer on a Sunday

I was just about to send you this link http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showth ... a-V74X-VFD...and that you needed to check DCM/FWD wires. Chances are pretty good either Gary or myself have answered whatever problem you're having already on the SBF years ago...

Plenty of options for Zzero plate...use original or something else. IMPORTANT: DON'T LET THE PLATE SHORT OUT ON THE MACHINE LIKE SB DID! Centroid doesn't like the toolsetter input constantly getting triggered while the tool is in motion. Be sure to slip a piece of rubber or plastic in between the plate and the machine.

Take the cncm.hom in the cncm folder, modify it as needed to home and move your machine to the corner of your spoilboard and save the modded file overwriting the original. MAKE A BACKUP COPY - and put it somewhere safe other than the cncm folder. If you upgrade or make changes in the Wizard, it will overwrite it.

As an old friend used to say Wouldn't it be nice If the Acorn software could be run with out being hooked up or power on.

If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts....

There are so few controls that do this, there must be a good reason

There is a demo version of CNC12 that will run on a stand-alone PC available in the Servo version installer.

You'll want to read up on this: https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... manual.pdf

and this: https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5089

use: C:\cncm\VirtualControlPanel.exe

and maybe watch this:

Well I ran my first job with it and it went pretty good. I still am learning how to do stuff that was simple for me before. I still have to customize my VCP but I am getting by for right now. I did loose the view where you can see the progress on the VCP so I have to find that setting. Thanks for all the help so far.

Luke, if you press F8 while the job is running it'll switch between the g code view and the graphics view. Is this what you mean?
