I tried several different inputs with the tool touch off just as Scott mailed me and can not get it to stop the down movement. I did the alt I and when I touch the plate to the bit it triggers the light.
start with a good description, photos and a fresh report.zip so we can give you good advice.

Ok here is the latest report. Most everything works other than the homing and Z zeroing.

luke,
hello.
need more description on what you mean by homing and z zeroing doesn't work.
make a video of the issue so we can see what you are doing. -keith

the reports shows you are using windows 7. this OS is not supported.
use Windows 10 or 11 and follow the setup guide to configure Windows for CNC use.

Also the PC being used as a CNCPC does not meet the minimum required PC specs
review all the info on this page.
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... guide.html

this system has no chance of working properly without a new CNCPC , you can buy one for cheap that meets the min. req. here.

also set or get a 1920x1080 monitor

z limit is tripped.

- could be incorrect wizard switch configuration, bad wiring, bad switch, switch dog not positioned correctly.

- remove the TT input (and any other probe inputs) and get basic things like homing working BEFORE adding accessories.

in general, add one thing at a time to the CNC controller and test as you go. avoid just 'hooking everything up" and then trying to debug, that method is doomed.

Ok here is what I did. I got a newer desktop and loaded cnc12 5.02 and loaded the settings I had before. when I go to home the machine it moves to the first limit and stops I can not get it to move off that switch but it will move in the Y and if I shut it down and manually move the x off the switch I can move the gantry using the buttons. I can not move the Z with the button but it will move with the MDI command. Back when version 5 was in trials I had the same problem. here is my report

Luke,

make a video of what you are doing.

sounds like the limit switches are not wired to the corresponding axis, for example sounds like X axis is moving to seek home but Y axis limit gets tripped.
currently this is how you have the system configured.
; #wizardregion Inputs
ThirdAxisHomeLimitOk IS INP1
FirstAxisHomeLimitOk IS INP2
SecondAxisHomeLimitOk IS INP3
ToolTouchOffDetect IS INP4
EStopOk IS INP8
; #endregion

where axis 1 = x, axis 2 = y, and axi 3 = Z.

do you have Z switch wired into input #1?
do you have X switch wired into input #2?
do you have Y wired into input #3?

(and are these prox switches or regular type switch? if prox what type? )

do this...start out with a MUCH simpler setup and use only Home Switch inputs and verify that the X switch is configure to the X axis etc.

wire all of them into one input and define that as "HomeAll"

like this. https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... 954.r5.pdf

home all.png
this way you don't have to keep track of what switch goes with what axis!

verify each switch action before homing, use the PLC diagnostic app to observe the switch working with the input.
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... screen.pdf

also, edit the limit switch defeat xml file and change the skin number from 67 to 25.

Acorn v5.02 limit switch defeat VCP button got broken.

we were working on making things the same between Acorn and AcornSix and the Acorn limit defeat button got broken but it is and easy fix. applies to Acorn ONLY (not AcornSix)

If your Limit Switch Defeat button is not working, open the limit defeat button XML file and change the skin even number from 67 to 25

<vcp_button>
<skin_event_num>25</skin_event_num>
<plc_output>
<number>1109</number>
<color_on>#EC1C24</color_on>
<color_off>#81151C</color_off>
</plc_output>
</vcp_button>

save the file.

restart cnc12
