Using the lathe tonight the wireless mpg lost use of the soft buttons, cycle start/stop,macro buttons etc.

reset the programme and i was able to use the pendant to move the axis in both directions but still no cycle start
restarted centroid just incase but didnt solve it
powered off the machine and restarted and that didnt work either

started the machine on the screen just to make sure everything was working ok and it was
tried the pendant again and it started but then after a few seconds it became unresponsive again on the buttons

I used the windows on screen keyboard just in case i had a stuck button but nothing showed up
Batteries are all good in the wireless pendant
Ive added a picture of the pendant, cant remeber seeing the black bar before by the battery icon
Anyone had anything similar?

I think that black bar is the indicator that, in normal operation, flashes briefly every time you press a key or turn the handwheel. In other words, it indicates when the MPG is transmitting data to the computer. Perhaps someone with a properly functioning WMPG handy can confirm that.

If it is on continuously, that suggests a stuck button or internal malfunction, such that it is transmitting some kind of data continuously.

You might be able to learn something by looking at memory bits MEM600 through MEM612 on the Alt-i display. Those are flags for the thirteen keys, and any one of them should be green only when the corresponding key is held down.

Do you have your USB ports set to not go to sleep?

The black bar indicates sending, it goes on with buttons and the MPG.

It looks like there are a tiny slit at the bottom of the buttons for cycle start and feed hold.
I would say damp/wet fingers have affected it yesterday as it is fine today

Can these be repaired/reconditioned at all?

i've pulled the overlay and replaced it on a few of them, its a tedious job but can be done.
