Acornsix on 4x8 chines imported ATC upgrade

Post by Blaze »

To all please help if you can i have searched and asked question to various guru on youtube with no success. I am new to CNC with little knowledge in reading schematics, therefore my experience is minimal at best. However i have studied the Schismatics provided by Centroid for the Acornsix. I am confident its a job I can do I just needed to clarification on somethings prior to starting.
Here is my current set up
I have 220 AC input power to CHNT NXBLE-32 Powers switch to power my CHNT NXC-18 contactor that powers two 220VAC transformers
This transformer output six legs of 70VAC to power my Leadshine H2-758 Drivers with 6 Leadshine Easy Servo Motors Model#:86HSM85-E1.
These motor drives my X, Y, Y-slave, Z and A Axis with one motor installed on my spindle head allowing my spindle to spin/rotate 90 degrees to the left and right physical directions.
110VAC leg from my 220 is used for input power to my 120 VAC to 24volt 5amp DC Model GY120w-24-B power supply.
This power supply powered my old 4Axis Rich Auto B5X Controller With a B581E DSP handler (this handler doesn’t work anymore causing me to upgrade to Centroid Acornsix).
24DC powers 2 CHNT NXJ/4Z (D) 24VDC 3amp relays. These relays powers my A-Axis and I believe send power to my spindle motor to rotate my spindle head when needed.
The 24VDC output power supply also powers 3 CHNT NXJ/2Z (D) 24VDC 5amp relays. that controls my / pneumatic air for my HQD GDL60-24Z6.0 ATC 24000 rpm Spindle. Don't know the reasons for the other 2 5amps ralay.
I also have a DZB Series Fuling Inverter Model DZB312B007.5L2A VFD and a JuhanodianQi CW3-20A-T EMI to minimize noise.

My questions is this.
1). Do i needed to add a 24VDC or 24VAC contactor as the schematic recommends to connect my mxuteuk 2pcs 22mm 2 NC Red Mushroom Emergency Stop Push Button Switch AC 660V 10A, E_Stop from Amazon? If a 24vdc contractor is needed, can someone give a list of suitable products to use with my current set up?

2). Do I have to use my old 24V 5amp DC power supply that came with my cnc or is it absolutly required that i use the power supply provided with my Acornsix be used (Part # RD-35B) 100-240VAC @.8amp. I am favoring using the power supply that came with my Acornsix because of the amperage requirements.
I just don’t know what effect if any this would cause on the rest of the system configuration on my CNC.

Please help and Thanks in advance.

Chinese machines are usually not wired in the conventional way and vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. You already have a contactor in your panel, is it wired to a e-stop button on the machine currently? I assume the machine has an estop already but maybe not.

It is recommended to use a separate power supply for the Acorn only. It's best to use the one that comes with it and only power Acorn with this power supply. You of course can use any 24vdc power supply you wish but only power the Acorn with it.

Thanks Shawn. I really appreciate you taking the time to response to my cry for help. To answer your 1st question concerning the E-Stop. The machine did come with an E-Stop installed which was only connected to my old Rich Auto controller. 1 end of the wire (Red wire) to an input and the other end (Black wire) to -24VDC. It was never wired to the contactor but it worked for that setup and controller.

Can I connect 1 end of my E-Stop wire to input A1 and out put A2 to Relay 1 on the switch end and NoFault out wire from Relay1 N.O side of the relay to the other side of my E-Stop as show on Acornsix Generic VFD Schematic? I am thinking that this is the way I should connect it," but not really sure". Please let me know if this is the right approach for my given setup.

I will use the Acorn Power Source to power Acorn as Shown on the various schamtic applicable to my setup. I will use the other 24 volt VDC power supply to power any none essential accessories such as light and Fan and the (Estop light with a N.O switch).
