The new version 5.0 is a unified version of CNC12 and will install on all of our current CNC control board architecture. Right now 4.99 is a beta just for acornsix. More info later on the 5.0 beta for everything else. 😁. I'll make a list of features like I always do for the new version and post here on the forum.

Scales for positioning is supported. There is a planned encoder expansion board that gives another six encoder ports. Scales for positioning does not care what kind of motors it's connected to.
Scales for positioning does not tune the servo drive servo drive tuning is done in the drive. Scales for positioning looks at the scale and sees if the motor
Made it to the commanded position. If it didn't, it adds a little or subtracts a little to the motion to make sure that it does.

What about using the encoder inputs and using drives on velocity mode drives? Will we still have the Tune section just like on the oak does?

Acorn 6 is Step/Dir for axis, it will not drive servos in velocity mode unless they are for the spindle.

But you can drive modern Servos on very high step rates for extrem precision and speed.

Installed the public Beta software on my lathe.

Works without any problems.

If someone thinks you will get a buggy beta, no that runs really reliable.

Did you just installed 5.0v software on the Acorn 4th axis or the AcornSix? I wanted to install the new 5.0 version on the previous acorn controller.

Right now it is Version 4.99 and only for Acorn6 IMHO.

For Acorn use the current 4.80 software.

Thank you. I definitely didn't interpret this from most of the Facebook postings.

I think it is planned to have V5 for all Centroid kits in future.

The v4.99 beta released with acornsix is an acornsix only beta do not install it on any other hardware but acornsix.
