Z axis not consistent (missing steps?)

highly unlikely that this is a motor/encoder/drive/signal issue.. this is a mechanical issue.

hello.
the acorn yaskawa combination is very reliable.
this is most likely a mechanical issue.
something has come loose.
do you have a .001" indicator on a mag stand? an indicator can be used to track down lost motion in a mechanical system.
i would be examining the mechanical system to track down the issue. loose axis and axis motor pullies/couplers are the most common.
