Lathe tool probe

Post by slodat »

I’m looking for a probe to measure tool offsets on my lathe.

I’ve seen a couple on here in the past. Searched for quite a while and never found anything of course.

I appreciate any links of guidance. Thank you I’m advance!

Centroid's TT-2 works remarkably well - https://www.centroidcnc.com/cnc_tool_set.html

Oh! Wow! Can you elaborate on how this works? I can't find anything about this probe on a lathe.

Also, how do I order the bulkhead cable for inside the control cabinet? I like that setup better and I'm happy to pay for it.

Also, can it be easily converted from lathe to mill and back?

Email sent!

I'm sure others are interested in the answers to the question about using on lathe and mill. I know I am!

Look at the TT-2 brochure - it shows the probe mounted in a lathe with the lathe anvil mounted. KP-3 is similar. Lathe and mill applications only differ in the "end effector". Lathe gets a circular anvil; mill gets a ball tip.
