Huanyang VFD Settings - Trying to understand.

Greetings.

This is my first post here but I have been reading many useful threads. I greatly appreciate them.

I am retrofitting my CNC with the Acorn board. At the same time I had the opportunity to get a Huanyang Spindle setup.

I have the 110V / 2.2Kw version. (Yes, I know that math doesn't work.)

I am having a devil of a time understanding the Chinese translation in the manual.

Specifically I am having trouble understanding the settings for PD006 , 7, 9 and 10. The manual states these are important and can cause issues if they are not set correctly. I have attached the VFD manual. My confusion starts on page 20.

I have found several forums and posts where the settings are given but none that really explain what they mean.

To make matters worse, the model # of my VFD is not covered specifically in the manual they sent.

I just purchased the 110V, 2.2KW VFD. I plan to use it with a Huanyang 110V, 2.2KW spindle.
The manual that came with my VFD does not have settings for the 110v in charts.
I do not know how to set my spindle for a curve of constant torque. Specifically I am confused about settings PD006, PD007, Pd009 and PD010.
Do you have any documentation that will be helpful?

They replied:
PD006, PD007, Pd009 and PD010.
These are not necessary parameter Settings
pd005=400,pd004 =400pd003=400 pd072=400,pd144=3000
pd008=110
Set these parameters, and then the input wire is connected to R and T terminals, and the output wire is connected to the UVW terminal
So, other than setting the VFD to accept signals from the Acorn, is this all I need to do? Leave the VFD at default setting and make these specific changes? Some forums suggest that the first thing I should do is reset the VFD to default settings.

I also found a thread on this forum where Marty from Marty's cnc garage posted these setting in an effort to help someone else.
PD001 1 (Use digital inputs for on off)
PD002 1 (Source of operating frequency)
PD003 300 (Main Frequency)
PD004 300 (Base Frequency)
PD005 300 (Max Frequency - Max RPM of the motor)
PD006 2.5 (Intermediate Frequency - Should have no relevance)
PD008 220 (Max motor voltage from motor nameplate)
PD011 200 (Minimum Frequency - Set the lower frequency based on desire minimum RPM)
PD014 10 (Acceleration Time)
PD015 10 (Deceleration Time)
PD070 0 (Analog Input - 0 = 0-10VDC input)
PD072 300 (Lowest Analog Frequency)
PD073 (Highest Analog Frequency)
PD142 8.6 (Motor Nameplate current)
PD143 4 (# of motor poles)
PD144 3000 (Motor Nameplate RPM
PD176 1 (Inverter Frequency Standard)
If I just need to better educate myself or RTFM as it were, any links to VFD theory would be much appreciated. I am an electronic technician by trade so I should be able to understand the technical gibberish.

What is the model number of your VFD and spindle? Please post those if you want help. Have you tried searching via Google for a manual for your specific drive? As you mentioned, the manual you linked to only mentions 220 and 380 volt motors and diagrams. I would say it's the wrong manual therefore any settings you made MAY BE WRONG. I can't find anything in that manual that mentions a 110v VFD or motor.

Have a look at the settings at the bottom of this page. Automation Technology sells these VFD's and they list parameter settings.

The model number and specs for the spindle will be laser etched in the side of the spindle. If you look at the Amazon link you posted the model number is in the photo. This is assuming you received the same spindle in the Amazon photo.

I did see the number etched on the spindle but I wasn't sure if it was a model number or a lot number. That is why I provided the link.

What the specs of the spindle motor? Is this a router?? PIcture of the spindle motor nameplate?
Do you have a GENUINE Huan Yang VFD or a KNOCK off of the Genuine HY VFD? (Yep, there are crappy knock offs)
I know that with the 80mm spindle motors, you had better get the VFD settings correct.

I have Huanyang VFD Drive,2.2kW 3HP 220V and a Huanyang Water Cooled CNC Spindle Milling Motor 220V 2.2KW 24000RPM
Does somebody actually have the parameters to set this VFD and what should be set in the wizard

I finally got around to bench testing this spindle and VFD. At the moment I am just running it off of the front panel using the build in potentiomenter. It is not connected to the Acorn.

I compared the settings for the VFD listed above with settings from Automation Technologies, and a thread on CNC zone. I have attached an excel file showing the settings suggested by the latter two with the differences highlighted.

Basically the spindle seems to run fine.

However, it doesn't go past 16020 RPM. I don't remember the HZ but I want to say around 250.

I have checked and double checked my settings; especially PD144 which is set to 3000.

I have also attached pictures of my actual devices.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

We need a copy or share a link to the manual for your drive. Your excel spreadsheet is helpful but only if we have the manual for your drive.
