I've been searching this forum and the wiring diagrams for help on wiring a DC fan(s) in my controller enclosure.
I would like to have the fans turn on/off at preset temperatures. Or is there a better way to control fan operation?
Do I need an additional BOB to do this??

Any help as always much appreciated.

You can use a simple fan controller. This needs no connection to Acorn.

I'd recommend a 120v fan over a 12v fan any day and have it run all the time. Why wait until things get hot? Be sure to mount it so it blows air into the enclosure at the bottom somewhere and have a simple grill/vent at the top somewhere. Don't have any enclosure fan positioned to suck air out as this only draws dust and dirt in through any crack or crevice it can find. Just my 2¢

I used a (domestic) central heating thermostat in a couple of my cabinets. You can usually turn them up enough that they only come on when the internal ambient has climbed 10-15C. That means the fans only come on when you have been using the machine for a while and they turn off again when things have cooled down again. They cost peanuts.

An alternative would be a "digital process controller " or "digital temperature controller" that will measure temperature through a thermocouple and control mains equipment through a solid state relay or mechanical relay to maintain a maximum temperature. Again, they cost peanuts and you can get them from Amazon, ebay, AliExpress etc.
