Im looking into getting the Acorn controller for my mill. I have ASD-B2-0421-B ECMA-C20604RS motors/drivers, the Acorn states compatibility with Delta ASDA-A2. Are the ASD-B2 compatible with the Acorn?
Thanks Wayne

Re: Acorn Delta-B2 Compatibility
I found the schematic here https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... 102.r1.pdf
There appears to be no difference between the the A2 and B2 in terms of pinout/hookup. I noticed on CNC4PC they have interconnect and patch boards for the Acorn to Servo interconnect. Does anyone recommend or have experience with these?
Thanks Wayne

You can use the CNC4PC boards, but they are not required. Users have had various results with the boards. Problems are usually around hooking up the homing and drive fault signals. I suggest a forum search on the CNC4PC boards and a good read before making your decision.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Re: Acorn Delta-B2 Compatibility
Ok thanks tblough. I made similar boards for a ClearPath machine; molex mini-jr to rj45. But that was to ease the wiring from the control cabinet to the motors. I guess there is not much to be gained from patch boards to connect electronics in the same control cabinet.tblough wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 11:43 am You can use the CNC4PC boards, but they are not required. Re: Acorn Delta-B2 Compatibility
alternatives....you can find/order delta cn1 cables from china with cn1 connector on one end and flying lead on the other.
or order a CN1 breakout board and run you own wires between that board and the Acorn. i've done both and the cnc4pc way, they all work.
