I am trying to get all motors to stop if there is a fault on any one motor. Cureently, that isn't happening, the other two motors keep running.

That’s certainly an issue and again I don’t use the C86 board. Sounds like an enable/drive fault issue somewhere. I have DIN rail relays wired to all three HLFB circuit and if any one motor faults they all stop as Acorn stops them with a drive fault error message. Acorn controls the enable line of the motors in my systems. This is what stops ALL motors if any one motor faults. Does Acorn “enable” your drives or does the C86 enable them? Sounds to me like you might have a HLFB issue or jumper issue with the C86 and the enable circuits.

There’s clearly an issue somewhere in the system and adding a contactor is just a band-aid, I’d suggest finding the issue rather than coming up with a workaround.

I wound up not wiring the contactor to the C86. I had it where you had to start CNC12 to engage the contactor and the C86 board. The C86 board would work until a motor faulted and instead of the motors all stopping just the remaining unfaulted motors would continue moving. For whatevere reason the the C86 has to be powered first, turning on the motors and when you start CNC12 the contactor can engage the rest.

2 questions....

Why are you faulting motors? Are they improperly sized, improperly tuned or is the mechanical reduction not correct? Is there a mechanical bind?

If the system doesn't throw a drive fault and stop motion to all axes when a motor faults, you don't have your wiring and or input configuration done properly.

The fault was caused by a bad motor. It has been repaired. The wiring has been chnged and all is working properly.
