PM-25MV Acorn Spindle Control

Post by greglwood »

I have a PM-25MV that I have converted to CNC. I now want to control the spindle from ACORN. I understand the wiring, encoder etc however I need to determine what size wire to run from the relays to the PM control board/box. I have seen and read quite a bit about this but no where have I found anything that tells what the voltage, type and amps are on these wires. The momentary on/off is obviously 110v and I believe the forward/reverse is DC but unable to confirm.

I also intend to switch the unit on and off via another contactor so I am bypassing the momentary on/off switch by connecting wire one to wire three which would leave the e-stop and chip guard in play. The new contactor will control the existing contactor.

Specific questions I am looking for answers two.

1. Amps passing thru momentary on/off switch.
2. Volts/Amps passing thru forward/reverse switch.

I hope someone can help, don't want to blow my control board up like FRANCO. (lol)

I used 22ga wire and haven’t had any issues.
