Hey guys, If I try and create a threading opp in Intercon and pull up a thread designation I get nothing. Typed in 10-32 1/4-20 3/8-16 4 6 8 10 etc.. Nothing comes up. I look up the threads database in the cnct directory, for some reason I cant open it in Excel ? not sure why but I open it in WordPad and it dose not appear to have any thread designations in it? File is attached
What do I need to get this populated?
Qs on this,
When typing in a fractional thread such as 1/4-20 IS this the way you type it in? or .25-20?
Does this DB has imperial and metric threads?
When creating a thread in Intercon do you need to define the OD of the stock prior to threading OR dose the threading opp do this for you?
And typing "M" would start to show metric threads. It's an auto-complete input. The more you type in of the thread designation, only the remaining possible choices are displayed. You do need to select internal/external/internal taper/external taper first.
The threading cycles just thread. Thread prep is on you.
Section 8.9 in the user manual details the use of the thread cycle.
You can't the thread database in Excel because it is not a spreadsheet.
Cheers,
Tom
Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.
Your thread database you posted in the first post only contains a single custom external 1/4-20 thread. My guess is the file was wiped out trying to open it with Excel.
Yould should ne able to extract that file from a report and copy it over the corrupted one. If that fails, reinstalling CNC12 well restore the file.
Cheers,
Tom

That’s strange cuz I tried many times to call up a threads before I tried to open in excel. I’ll look for it in an older report, or maybe on the mill computer.
