Hello, I am trying to digitizing the arch of a violin back. I am certain that my probe is functioning well. I haze zeroed my Z axis above the highest point of what I am digitizing. I start in the bottom left corner of my grid. These were my initial settings :
Type: Grid
X patch length: 225
X step over: 1
Y patch length: 400
Y step over: 1
Z maximum depth: 32
Z step up: 1
Axis to move first: X
Digitizing File name: Joachim Back
Replay feed rate: 76
Multiple patch: No (changed to Yes for all following attempts)
Replay pattern: zig Zag
Probe diameter: 2
When the first row is complete, the probe does not return but instead bounces up and down on the last spot of the line. I have tried multiple different settings and currently am having success with the following:
Type: Grid
X patch length: 170
X step over: 1
Y patch length: 40
Y step over: 1
Z maximum depth: 32
Z step up: 2
Axis to move first: X
Digitizing File name: Joachim Back
Replay feed rate: 76
Multiple patch: yes
Replay pattern: zig Zag
Probe diameter: 2
With these settings the probe continues zig zag going after it finishes a line.
As it is, I am keeping record of where I have digitized and will go back in blocks to complete my full grid. I am curious however, if there is a way to input the full area I wish to digitize to simplify my process. Is my selected area too dense? Would I be able to complete the 225x400 area if my x and y step overs were 2 instead of one? Thank you,
Chris

Re: Digitizing Grid Issue
pls post fresh report.
From my experience there is no bug in grid digitze, works perfect on my mill.
