That is correct. Intercon only works with .lth files. You can manually edit the generated .cnc file, but the changes will not propagate back to intercon. There is no way to convert a .cnc file into an Intercon program.
I think I am doing something wrong, but I don't know what? <resolved>

Cheers,

Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

This is a different question, but one that I've never really known the definitive answer to, when machining a taper, is the angle that you specify, assuming that the lathe X:0 is the centre of the radial axis, the angle between one side of the taper and the centre of the job, or the combined angle of both sides of the tapered part?
For example, if a part has a 30 degree taper, is the 30 degrees specified in intercon, between X:0 and one side of the job, or between X: +-
in other words 15 degrees X+ and 15 degrees X- ?

If you need 30° overall, you program 15°
But moving in -Z is 180° so in Intercon Taper Angle is 165° for an 30° taper overall getting bigger in -Z

Thanks Uwe
I think that what I hadn't realised is that -Z movements are 180 degrees, I thought they'd be 0 degrees. It makes sense though -: +Z would be 0 degrees. I'll have a play with that, when next i'm in the shed.

Here is a photo of the final result. I had a bit of trouble getting a measurement of the angle for the tapered part of the bolt, but it's very close and will work fine. The bolt in the middle is the original one.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
