absolute encoder instead of limit switches in ACORN

Post by andrkorb »

Hello my Dears,

I'm just wondering if I could use servos with absolute encoders instead of limit switches for homing. Generally I'd like to avoid homing process every time when I switch on my mill?

No. Acorn does not have encoder inputs for drive axis.
Cheers,

Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

some drives have built in homing functions and others have encoder marker pulse output (serach "Zri homing" on this forum) that can be used in conjunction with Acorn Homing.
