I will look into changing the settings.

CNCSNW, thank you very much!!!

This is a spindle lock for a PDB. It has caught me several times when I forgot to unlock it after a tool change. Wish I could figure out how to make it check this when the spindle is turned on from the VCP or MPG.
yep.. these should be at 3200 steps per rev if on a router and 8000 steps per rev if on Mill or Lathe. at the 1500 setting you are shooting yourself in the foot. ;)

set the step per rev on the drive dip switches or with the Leadshine software and set the wizard to match.
set turns ratio to 1 turn per inch, command to move 1" in MDI verify motor rotates 1 turn. if so, then set the overall turns ratio for the machine. these steps are outlined in the Acorn Installation manual and more info link to the discussion thread i provided above.

I may be wrong about this but since these are 1.2deg don’t the steps/rev have to be in multiples of 300?

Great thanks for your help. I just got done changing the SPR to 7800 on the XYZ and 8000 on the rotary.

I set it before I saw your post telling me that the 1.2 deg didnt matter. That was an assumption I made based upon some other drives that only have a handful of settings and they seemed to be multiples of 300 or 200 on the 1.8 degree. I still need to go back in and make sure my turns ratio is still good. Should be though.

its an AC servo motor correct?
and out of curiosity what kind of machine is this?

and what about the overall turns ratio..do you have it set to the true mechanical constant of the machine axis? (just want to make sure you are not trying to adjust steps per rev to effect the commanded distance moved. :-))

sorry, I did not get a notification that you had posed here. These are leashine easy Servos. I re-set the turns ratio and backlash after changing the SPR. Everything seems to be accurate now and changing the macro stopped all of the lock-up issues.
