My first post. Bought an Acorn system. NUC pc, Pro Mill software, Acorn board, power supplies, usb hub. Have Gecko 214 drivers and power supply
Centroid installed the software and hopefully configured windows 10 at purchase. I did the bench test before installing the system. After instillation,
I started getting communication failure notices on boot up. I tried swapping ends on the ethernet cable and changing the cable. The last time the system functioned, I had just homed the machine and communications quit . I got error code 452 displayed. I tried disconnecting everything
except the computer and Acorn. No communication. Acorn board lights up, heart beat, yellow and green leds on. Ping test: "host unreachable.
I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

Old boot up problem is back. I have had error code 452 over 33 times. Some times it works and other times not. I disconnected everything from the acorn board and powered it up. Heart beat light blinks 10 time then skips about 3 beats then repeats. Did this while hooked up to the rest of the system also. Is this normal? With my limited knowledge of computers, I've looked for any firewalls and couldn't find any. I'm hoping that Centroid
gave this system a full prefrontal lobotomy before they shipped it to me. So, some times it works and other times not. Suggestions?

I would suggest working through the steps in TB #270 { https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... ds/270.pdf } and looking through the thread that Keith linked to { https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=1451 }. If you have any questions about the specific steps, I'm sure we can help you out somehow.

As a preliminary step, please verify that your ethernet cable is shielded and you are connected to an ethernet port on the motherboard. You can identify a shielded cable by the presence of metal on the sides of the connector. For example:

We do test every Acorn and everything else we make pretty thoroughly before it goes on our stock shelves.

follow the Windows setup instructions to the T (and the rest of TB 270), if you were unable to find the firewall, you have to make sure that the windows firewall is off for starters. watch the video on this. here. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... guide.html

or follow the written instructions. TB270 and the installation manual.
