HUAN YANG HY Series VFD, Need parameters to control speed <resolved>
I had a Sunfar VFD which I completely gave up on it, so I bought a HuanYang HY series that was straight forward to wire with the files found on Centroid forum. Now the only problem I have is that I can start the spindle from CNC12 but I can not control the speed. Can somebody please tell me what are the parameters that I have to put on the VFD to be able to control it. It's a 24000 RPM spindle water cooled. And if I have to do anything in CNC12. Thank you.

Look in the manual for a parameter that sets the VFD to be controlled by an external voltage source.

It would be super helpful to us if you’d post a link to the PDF manual for your VFD. We can’t possibly know which model VFD you have and guess at which parameter needs changing.

Thanks, try setting parameter Pd002 to a value of 1 and report back.
Also make sure you setup the wizard properly with your spindle speed parameters.

Re: HUAN YANG HY Series VFD, Need parameters to control speed
Hi, I already changed it. I can turn the spindle on from centroid but can't control the speed. And for the connections I followed the diagram scheme from centroid. I''m attaching it. Thank you.

Re: HUAN YANG HY Series VFD, Need parameters to control speed
Did you do the spindle bench test per the manual? Is the voltage output correct? Do you have the spindle parameters set in the wizard? Do you have all the other parameters in the VFD set up properly? Can you control the speed from the pot of the front of the VFD after it turns on?
Re: HUAN YANG HY Series VFD, Need parameters to control speed
Don't Huan Yang VFDs have a jumper you have to move (to a "VI" position) before the 0-10V analog input will work?

Re: HUAN YANG HY Series VFD, Need parameters to control speed
Correct Marc, to the right of the control terminals there is a jumper, J1, with 3 pins numbered 1,2 and 3. He needs to short pins 1 and 2 with the jumper for control from and external connection. I've never wired one of these VFD's and wasn't familiar with the jumper it has.

Re: HUAN YANG HY Series VFD, Need parameters to control speed
Yes, you were correct. Moved the pin and it's working perfect. Thank you very much for all your help!!!ShawnM wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 6:29 pm Correct Marc, to the right of the control terminals there is a jumper, J1, with 3 pins numbered 1,2 and 3.
