I was in the process of installing v4.80 and received the attached error messages. I tried the install process again with the same result. Even tried the "Ignore" button, knowing it would help, but the install process continued to what was stated to be a "successful completion". However, the Wizard was no longer accessible (which the error message indicated a program was running (was not) or I was in the MDI (which I was not). Without the Wizard configurations, none of the soft keys worked.
If someone knows what happened and how to fix it, please let me know. Should I uninstall the prior version and try the 4.80 install again? I do have a backup for the older version.
Any help appreciated.
Tom

It would appear that you still have CNC12, the CNC12 Wizard, or the VCP still running in the background. Start the task manager and make sure no CNC12 programs are running before you run the installer.
Cheers,
Tom
Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

yep. close CNC12, the Wizard and the VCP before starting the installer.
I mis-understood the install instructions. After loading the license it then tells you to download the new version, but doesn't state to close CNC12. Thanks for your help. I'm up and running.

glad you are up and running.
I don't know of any location in our software that "tells you to download the new version" ?
Ok after a long delay I want to upgrade my lathe to version 4.8. I had Centroid do some custom modifications to the PLC. Is there any easy way to pick out the modifications they did to the PLC so I can move them to the new 4.80 version plc?

what kind of mods? if its ATC stuff v4.80 might support it out of the box.
if not,
send report.zip from old working version and report.zip from new configured v4.80 to support@centroidcnc.com
Atc mods to make a timer based turret work. They changed the relay logic so that one relay apples power and a second relay when powered off reveres the turret and when on drives the turret forward.
Then some fault detection. Below is a cut and paste from an email
Turret Outputs should turn off when any fault condition is seen (Turret time out, and ect).
Attached is a revised PLC for you to try, i added two timers.
P848 is the Turret Reverse Lock Fault. Timer starts when the turret starts to reverse, if it does not see the Lock Signal the system will fault. Default value is 1.5s, can be changed with P848.
P852 is the Turret Enable Off Delay, this is the timer that starts after the Lock Turret signal is seen. Default delay is 1s.
Your particular PLC changes are not included in the PLC provided in the V4.8 ATC files. I can look into updating it for you for V4.80 or even including it in the next iterations of the ATC files.
If you wish to try and update it your self, Most of the changes revolved around the ToolTurretIsLocked Input (Input 6) which is currently unused by the currently available ATC files.
