Hi everyone
I'm running the older version of cnc12 lathe pro
I'm wondering is it worth it to do the upgrade to the latest version of cnc12 ?
What do I gain with the upgrade?
I'm not a computer wiz so I don't want to upgrade and fight the battle to get everything running again
If there is only minimal gains
Acorn version 4,2 vs 4.64 Advantages?

Probably not. Unless you are experiencing an issue that was fixed in the newer version or desire a feature that was added.I'm running the older version of cnc12 lathe pro

Most versions have a "release notes". You can look them over and decide if you wish to install the newer version. What do I gain with the upgrade?
All of this assumes that you won't need tech support. Support is only offered for the latest version, so it could be in your best interest to install the latest version. I always recommend saving a copy of the installed version of CNC12, a current report and a screenshot of all the Wizard pages in a backup folder on the machine AND in a thumb drive away from it. Virtually any version can be "fresh" installed using the screenshots in under 10 minutes. There are a number of videos that explain/show this process.

Thank you Gary

Re: Acorn version 4,2 vs 4.64 Advantages?
big one from v4.2 to v4.64 is the new VCP which is user editable.
upgrade is pretty simple, make screen shots of the wizard settings, make a fresh report.zip, rename the cncm/t directory, install new software, config wizard setting to match the screen shots and you are good to go. while i agree with the if it ain't broke dont' fix it mentality, there have been alot of fixes and added features since v4.2. and the update to v4.64 is free. should take you less than 30 minutes to update and you can always revert in about 5 seconds to the old working install if you like.
