acorn board wont power up

Post by Gearhead »

Hello guys. My acorn board will not power up. I plug my power supply in and the board tries to power up but sits there and lights up ,shuts down, lights up, shuts down. I was in the stages of setting up stepper motor when it quit. thought it was power supply but it was not. Now im sick to my stomach.

hello. did you make it thru the bench test procedure with good results?

disconnect everything from the Acorn board except for the connections shown on the bench test schematic.

Usually when you have power on off on off there is a dead short in one of the power rails, probably 24v. Disconnect all but the factory supplied wiring and repower

ok.. you most likely have a short or + and - backwards somewhere.. power down, disconnect everything and go back to bench test configuration.

ok guys I have acorn board lit up but no heart beat. had disconnected everything on board. then repowered with a new power supply that i ordered because i thought that was my proplem . only reason I thought that is because the board was blinking. didn't remove wires and test power supply. Learned a lesson there. any suggestion where to go from here to try to get my heartbeat back.

P.s. thanks for the help so far.

OK guys has been a while since i have done anything with this. Summer was very busy. Did some checking and found beagle bone green wasn't burnt up.
Replaced that and put files on it.But cant get heart beat. Lights on Acorn board are lit up but no power to beagle bone green. Where do i look next. any help is appreciated.
The lights on beagle bone came on all four when installing the files. so that should be good.
