If it will do only 800rpm, you have max. 1200mm/min feed for the Z axis set up.
Here is how ist looks with 3000 rpm:

Re: Screwcutting
Why did you show me that link to the APT shop? Now i have just loaded up my credit card to the MAX with toolsMuzzer wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 11:42 am These boys in Glasgow are pretty good on pricing and fast delivery. I ended up buying 2 each of the metric sizes between 1.0mm and 2.0mm in each of aluminium (AK10) and steel (T250).

I've been using 250rpm and 500rpm for my threading. That's still pretty fast.

Re: Screwcutting
Max feed for Z with stepper was 5000mm/min with 20x5mm ball screw and Stepper belted 2:1 4000 puls/rev
Now with servo also 4000 puls/rev, Acorn set to 400 khz and out comes 15000mm/min, but I use only 10000mm/min , because this reaches the critical rpm for the long ballscrew.

Re: Screwcutting
I managed to leave the steps per rev at 1600 and increase the feedrate to 2200mm/min any more increase and it didn't like it.suntravel wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 3:46 pm Max feed for Z with stepper was 5000mm/min with 20x5mm ball screw and Stepper belted 2:1 4000 puls/rev

I used coolant on all the turning and it works well.
The turret is reliable now i find that i have to do M18 after the posting of the code and then it doesn't miss a tool change.

Maybe it needed 2 more spring passes on the thread.

Re: Screwcutting
Now that is a big improvement compared to the first video
You can also try to make the first cut deeper, because this is the easy cut.
