The drawing does not show any connections to the DB25 terminal.
Should I change the wiring to the DB25 to make the 4th Axix work?
hi, fyi.. the schematic attached is not a Centroid schematic. all Centroid Acorn schematics are located here.

we drew up a proper KL-5056E to Acorn schematic, here is the link.
https://www.centroidcnc.com/dealersuppo ... 129.r1.pdf

we added it to the Centroid schematics page. https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... browse.php#
search KL-5056

the enable signal wire is optional. for bench test omit it until you get the motors turning, then you can connect it up if you want.

This drawing only shows X, Y, and Z-Axis.
I have a 4th Axis, so how do I wire it up using this drawing?
The X, Y, and Z-axis seem to work fine but when trying to use the 4th Axis (A), it does not rotate as it should.
The 4th Axis does not reverse all the time and it jams up and starts squealing when running for a couple of seconds.
The steppers are all set with the same settings except the A is set to rotary in lieu of linear.
If I plug the A into X, Y, or Z- then it will reverse and seems to run normally. All of the dip switches are set the same.
Could I have a bad stepper controller for the A axis?
I also don't know how to set up the rotary in the Wizzard for rotations in degrees to get the 360-degree rotation.
No matter how I set it up it either will not rotate, does not stop rotating or Jams up when I start it.
I started with the 0.1388888 setting, 200 pulses, 1.8 Degree which is what Automation told me and that does not work.
I have tried every setting on the stepper and all of the pulse settings, but nothing works.
I have attached a report file and the specs file for the rotary.

Jamming up and "squealing" are sure signs of overdriving the steeper and lost steps. Reduce your accelerations and Max speed for the rotary axis and see if that helps.

Maybe this document will help with your rotary axis setup:

test to answer the question of bad drive is to simply swap the drive out for another axis.

yes wiring diagram is for 3 axis, just continue to follow the wiring example for the 4th axis, no difference between 4th axis wiring and any other axis.

My first calculation for Acorn was wrong, thought in Rev/Deg, but it is Deg/Rev so for 50:1 use 360/50=7,2

Here it is 4 for 90:1 in my Wizard:

You state that all steppers have been set the same other than Axis A. The problem is that Axis Configuration in your recent report shows otherwise as follows:

X and Y = 0.5 turns/inch
Z = 0.6449 turns/inch
A= 0.6449 revs/1 degree (being rotary axis)

I also note that your Fast Jog and Max rate have been set at the same 150 and 200 ips for all 4 axes which cannot be correct for Axis A. I use a Vertex rotary axis on my Mill that is calibrated in Acorn to approx 0.5 revs per degree and my Fast and Max are both set to 4500. Your Axis A will, of course, be different but I believe the Fast and Max rate on your Router need to be substantially higher than 100 to get adequate movement without stalling.

Lastly I note from your report that the Deadstart for Axis A shows 0.0675 in/min and the Delta Max is 0.07 in/min both being substantially different to the default of 5.0 that the other 3 Axes are set at. I don't know the significance of Deadstart and Delta Max or how you have entered these values (or whether it's relevant) but my own report shows the default 5.0 for both on all 4 axes

Other observations are that your homing sequence is set to "2" on all 4 axes. Change this to a proper i.e. sequential order

Hope this helps
