Did you read the manual on setting up probes?

Post a manual to the probe you got.
Post a fresh report
Tell us which inputs you are using for PROBE Detect and Tool touch off detect.
How do you have them wired? One or the other must be active when using the respective device.

Also the diagnostic screen is helpful to view to make sure inputs are triggered. Alt+i to toggle

I am reading the manual for probe setup.
Here is a current report.
I covered all my wiring and set up in the videos except like I said above I think I forgot the mention wiring into input 4 for (tool touch-off detect).
My wiring is NO TT and NO probe from probe set up guide, Rev 27 4-15-20 page 13
Using input 4 for tool touch-off detect and input 6 for probe touch-off detect.
there is no real manual for the probe just a few pages from the Ali Express website.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256803 ... 4itemAdapt

sorry for all single jpgs

I wonder if this is the key to what Im doing wrong? Currently, the TT is "ALWAYS" active. If I apply the ground clip to the chassis touch TT to the spindle it will trip. SO do i have to switch from TT to probe somehow? I did post asking IF i need the switches shown on page 13????? I circled that in red in a previous post.

"Marty"
How do you have them wired? One or the other must be active when using the respective device.

How do i make the probe active and turn off the TT?

Do you want to have your probe and TT allways connected?

I connect them only when used with a 4 pole plug, wich is configured to set ProbeDetect when plugged in, no switch.

I dont want to have to plug them in at the front of the machine every time, I will probably add a connector but on the back side of the enclosure. So I want to just grab either one when needed and use. So yes always connected.

I was getting a better grasp of the poor man's switch last night and it seems pretty practical and now I see the reason behind adding that to each device. Is literally how you turn each one on and off to activate it, correct? I do not have switches in the current wiring. IS this why the probe is not working? because the TT is always active?

I think Im leaning toward having the switch in place to avoid accidental triggers.

Can you wire it both ways, with and without poor man's switch?
AND does that Ali Express probe have a built-in probe detect switch?

You need probe and TT detect switches for the system to operate correctly regardless of whether you thing it's practical or not. They can be actual switches or jumpers built into the plugs for the devices.

Just so I'm clear on this it's literally adding a toggle switch to inputs 4 & 6 circuits, right?

My advice to you is plug them in as needed. Let the plug short the appropriate detect circuit based on which device is connected. When you share the probe trigger input, how is the control supposed to know which device is connected or being used?

When the probe is in the spindle, there are safety features enabled, like the spindle will not run when CNC12 sees the probe detect.

Read and follow the probe manual. Otherwise you are on your own.
Do things right and you'll be happier.
