So let me ask you all this say I have T3 loaded in the control, but no offset. Can I just enter G43D02H02 Or just G43H02 OR do you have to enter the entire string G43T02D02H02?

You can do this in the g code the way you want.

Example for tool#8

Code: Select all

N0002 T8 M6
  S3500 M3
  M7
  G4 P1.00 ; pause for dwell
  G43 D8
; --- Drill ---
N0003 X142.0 Y11.0 Z2.54 H8

Hey Guys,

Happy to report as per your input that was the problem. I was not changing my tool offset when switching from one tool to the other. If anyone can point out where that is in the manual, I have not come across it yet. "how to change tools & offset value in MDI"

Got all my offsets done for the tools Im setting up with and without using the tool setter. So Im good to go now.

THANK YOU guys for the input. That was a painful one! But Im over the hump, and on to the next thing.

I do have a question.

In setting up my tool touch I entered the thickness value of the TT in the "Height for setting part zero field" but with that setting, the tool would not end up on Z0 after setting the offset using the TT. I ended up just trying with the value set to 0 to just see what would happen and the Z values are on the top of the stock where it should be. Im I misunderstanding the function of this field?

So on to the next thing. Got my probes today. They are pretty darn cool, So small! Thanks, Uwe for the recommendation. I hope they work as well as they look.

For my mill I will have a tool touch and probe. Im trying to figure out what wiring setup I need to go with from the probe setup manual.

Question.
This is the tool touch I have, bought on Amazon. It dose not say if its NO or NC in the description, I also looked at all sources I could find selling it, but dose not say what type of circuit it is. it's a simple contact plate tool touch. So wouldn't that mean its NO

The probes I bought are NO.

Yes contact plates are NO. The circuit closes when the tip is in contact with the plate.

This is for my Mill. I have my existing TT wired to input 6&7.

Do I need to install these "user-installed manual TT detection switches" ? I think not right? Is this a physical switch you turn on or off when using the probe or tt?

Hey all, Wired up and installed my probe last night, I think I have it wired correctly but its not working. Par for the course in failed wiring on this project for me, LOL. Im getting a TT not found error. Looking for input on if I wired it wrong, missing something or ? Look forward to input. I had to make this in 2 videos so please watch both. Thanks

The control must be able to tell which probe device is connected so YES you must you PROBE DETECT and TOOL TOUCH OFF DETECT. Otherwise the control does not know to tell which is connected and being used.

Have you read the probe setup guide found here: https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=3397
Take the time to read it thoroughly

Just posted vids

I may have forgotten to say in the video but I do have TT detect on input 4 and Probe detect on Input 6 as per set up sheet.
