Also realized i wired the molex 8 logic connectors backwards on the box side DOH.
Fixed that, we have green lights babyyyy
Connected to all the motors with msp, swapped them to 6400 counts, did some test jogging in msp, all pass (machine is not coupled to motors).
Pop into mill12, reset, cycle start for simple home. X and y motors jogging correctly, z motor only jogs one way regardless of which jog button is pressed. Diving in on this now then I will install the flexible couplers and tune x and z today (and do little more reading on my paired y axis tuning)
Tining axis accelleration a bit today. Machine seems happy around .4. Going as low as .2 resulted in some y axis shaking for sure.
In typicall use this machine is going to have about 600lbs of birch on its lower shelf which should help damp vibrations a bit. I may also end up bolting it to the floor i think.
Just about done going through the huanyang vfd parameters. Hopefully have this guy talking with acorn on monday. 16/4 double shielded vfd cable shluld be arriving early this week. Lmk if you see anything wrong with the wiring config attached. I dont anticipate i'll need reverse functionality, so i skipped that.
A quick question. After updating to 4.64 from 4.5, i should re run the spindle benchtest procedure correct?

Is that signal wire going to the VFD a shielded cable? I can’t tell from the pic but if not it needs to be. Twisted pairs would be even better, especially for the analog voltage signal leaving the Acorn going to the VFD.
It is not shielded cable. Its leftover 20awg from the sdsk logic cables. (These are unshielded due to tekniks alleged "non noise susceptable drive:)
I only saw an unclear note to use ".50mm cable" when connecting the signal. And noted some people online were having issues with 0-10v control unleas they up the wire gauge for those pins
If i swap this to shielded, where do i terminate the shields?

It's highly recommended to shield all signal wire on your CNC. Ground the shield at the end closest to the Acorn only at your common grounding point or ground buss bar. I use 22 gauge shielded, twisted pair wire with no issues.
