Suggestion: WMPG with 3 wheels?

Post by rk9268vc »

Hello,
I have the WMPG and I love it. Been in my hand for hundreds of hours.

Problem though is that I occasionally leave the axis selector knob in the wrong spot and crash the mill/ tool.
Just 5 min ago i crashed my slitting saw into my part/ vise, wrecking the tool and part, because I accidently had the Z axis selected instead of X

My suggestion is that I would pay good money to have a WMPG with 3 jog wheels, one per axis. That way you mechanically separate them and would make it a lot more difficult to jog the wrong axis. You could then just make the wheels smaller to keep size down.

Another idea would be make it so you have to hold an axis button while you jog for axis select and then space those buttons apart to prevent fat fingering.
