Small upgrade today, replaced the simple set screws in the pulleys with locking assembly COM-B.
Way better torque holding an almost no runout.

Much better than setscrews. I use Fenner Trantorque bushing. Same principle, but smaller OD for the same shaft size so they can fit on smaller pulleys.

Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Thea are called Locking assembly TT by my dealer:

For some reason higher price-tag than Com-B

Hi Uwe, LOVE IT! going to do the same for my lathe and buy one of these probes for the mill as well. I really hate the skim cut method, LOL. Again thanks for the recommendation on the probe.

I wanted to ask you why you made the shaft of the probe end so long? Shorter would be less run out but I assume you had a reason for how long you made it. Also what material did you make the probe tip in? Stainless?

IS there an off-the-shelf probe tip available that you know of that fits this little probe? I assume you made yours?

Hi,

you can just use M2.5 Tips made for dial indicators like me.

The shaft is a cheap ER16 Toolholder with 20mm shaft.

Chuck is a precision one from Bison, repeats in a 0,02mm range

So much to learn, Im not familiar yet with interchangeable indicator tips. Is the shaft and disk on your set up 2 separate pieces like these?

I see these that are machined as a single part but the disks are really thin, not good for this set up.
