Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
I'm using a dell 9030 all in one pc . I have set up the pc as recommended for connection. Acorn has a good heart beat. Sometimes it does not connect, but sometimes it connects fine. It always connects if I'm very quick to start cnc12 whiles window is booting. If I wait too long it might not start. If I set it to automatically start with windows it may or may not start. Once it's running it will run all day long without any issues. Note that if it does not connect I need to power down the computer and acorn to connect.
Has anyone experienced this? Is windows trying use the static Ethernet ? I have Wifi turned off.

Re: Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
Are you using the shielded ethernet cable that was supplied with the acorn kit?

Re: Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
Check and make sure the ethernet cable jack is snug in the ethernet port on the pc. Is there any play or wiggle room when in the ethernet jack?

Re: Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
Yes checked all that and it's fine later in the day. As long as the PC has been up and running the whole time. It happens just around system startup. Even later in the day. Could windows be trying to access the port?

Re: Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
I had the same issue and it turned out to be a bad shielded Ethernet cable. Try a different cable and see if that solves your problem.

Re: Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
Do you only have one network connection in your PC? Or do you have a second Ethernet or WiFi controller?
If so, that can confuse Windows.

Re: Ethernet not connecting to acorn all the time
Tried another shield cable. No difference. The computer does not have an additional Ethernet port, it's single port is only connected to the acorn. It does have WiFi and I disabled it.
I don't seem to have a problem connecting in that short time period while the computer is booting. If I exit cnc12 and start again it connects as long as it connected originally in that short time period.
If I boot the computer and wait to start cnc12 it won't connect. It's like I have to click the cnc12 icon the second it appears on the desktop.
Attached is the ping results: 10.168.41.1 = zero lost , 10.168.41.2 = zero lost but destination host unreachable. Acorn does have a heart beat
