Use metal spacers to mount the boards to the backplane. Isolating the boards from the backplane with plastic spacers creates capacitance which can lead to EMI problems.

Ok thank you , I was going to 3-D print a small bracket that would allow me to space the relay board say maybe 1 to 2 inches off of the Acorn Board floating in space basically to give myself a little more room inside my box do you see that being a problem, it will be mounted to the board through a 3-D printed piece of plastic keeping it hovering above the acorn itself

If you need to save a little space remember there is no rule that says you have to mount the relay board on the bottom plate where your acorn is. You can mount the relay board on the side. It's slightly less convenient than having it on the plate but workable. Lay down all of your parts before you commit to fastening everything in place. You may have to change your mind a few times about where components should go.

My plan is to design and draw and 3-D print a bracket to basically float a relay board right here

Or I can lay it out like this which it seems like it should work unless I’m missing something I still need to add the e stop contactor and I guess some terminal blocks I think there should be enough room up in the top row for those
all the den rail in the picture represents is basically my 1 inch wire guide that I’m waiting to get here there were only be two den rails the top one with the power supplies and then possibly the second one where I put the relay board

Once again if you run out of room you can put stuff that you can't find room for on the mounting plate on the sides. You can also have an external box. That's what I'm doing on a build now. The spindle drive is in another box totally separate from the main electronics.

OK sounds good thank you I was simply just asking if anybody sees a problem with this lay out

If it were me I would probably move the power supply up closer to the breakers. Probably ok as is though. What is the circuit board for? the one below the power supply.

OK sounds good the only reason I have it closer to that little power board is because that is the powerhib 4 that’s what breaks the power out to all the servos

Just a little update I’m about 50% confident and all this wiring I have done, I pretty much rewired it the same way we did the bench test but they were a couple wires different because I added the e stop to it just waiting on my contactor to show up and I should be able to test it again
